The site is rich in history and culture with its connection to Guyasuta, and its striking industrial artifacts (the Gantry and Water Tower). There are two streams, Seitz Run and Guyasuta Run – now underground, but that meet the Allegheny on the site. There is also Sharpsburg beach, the fishing spots by the dam. And from the dense vegetated buffer at the river edge one can peek into the persevered Six Mile Island.
